Donors and Partners

From time to time we spotlight altruism and donors who touch our hearts in a special way. While we receive monetary donations that are very much needed to run our organization, we also receive goods that we can use to improve the lives of at-risk children. Many of the children we identify as being at risk are living in Foster Care and we’ve found some living in motels and even a car.

We received a call recently that spotlights one such donor and what makes this story even more touching is that she is in college. While most of our donors are in the middle or end of their careers, Addie Rose is just starting. Here’s her story:

Adelia Rose McGuire

My name is Adelia Rose McGuire, Addie Rose for short. I started Addie Rose Home in early 2020 with the help of my dad, and within a few weeks we had an amazon business up and running.

We were met with great success, and it was an excellent learning experience to dip my toes into entrepreneurship. Unfortunately, with the pandemic looming and me going off to college – the timing wasn’t quite right to continue.

I began looking for a home for the makeup bags we had left over when I found Machado Family Giving.

I am currently a member of Kappa Delta Sorority, whose philanthropy mainly supports PCAA – Protect Child Abuse America, so I wanted to find an organization with similar values to donate the bags to.

Supporting and protecting children is of the utmost importance to me, and I sincerely hope the bags help such a wonderful organization.
