One of the heartfelt stories of 2021 was the mother who had taken her children in the middle of the night to flee an abusive husband and father. Having no choice and afraid for the safety of her children, this brave mother crossed state lines and found herself in the Inland Empire of Southern California.
We received a call late that night, asking if we could provide help. We do not offer housing and our bank account had less than $500, so we thought long and hard about how we could effectively illicit positive change for these kids. In the end, we were able to provide the funds for 2 nights in a motel for this determined mother and her children.
